Meet Captain Matt
I am the owner of Deep Sea and I love to fish, surf, and dive. I started working on charter boats at nine years old scrubbing the boat and cutting bait for free trips. Deep Sea is the third boat that I have owned and operated out of Haleiwa. I started from the bottom and learned from some of the best local fishermen on the island. I am a very involved owner and captain. I have worked for a few of the original charter boats in my 20+ years of learning to fish the North Shore of Oahu. I have a good grasp of what a professional operation should look like and how it should be run. I am constantly trying to make changes to our gear and to the general set up of the boat to make operations more efficient and safe. I am consistently learning from our customers and I am committed to making fishing as safe and fun as it can be.
